Keys to a Good Life
1. Wake Up! Decide to have a good day. Each day is a gift from God who loves you deeply. Open it with joyous anticipation of the blessings it will bring. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
2. Dress Up! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; But the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
3. Shut Up! Learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so he must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3
4. Stand Up! Stand for something or you will fall for anything. Know what you believe and value, then act accordingly. Do not let fear or embarrassment dissuade you from doing what is right and good. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good." Galatians 6:9-10
5. Look Up! Keep your eyes on the Lord and treat others as Jesus did. A good disciple keeps their eyes on their Master to observe and better imitate him. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6
6. Reach Up! Do not be content with yesterday's good deeds nor discouraged by yesterday's failures. Each day is an opportunity to do better and become a better person. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
7. Lift Up! Let your heart dwell on your blessings. A negative spirit always finds fault which breeds resentment and despair. A positive spirit always finds good which breeds gratefulness and hope. "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice." Philippians 4:4
8. Speak Up! God answers Knee-Mail. Bring to the Lord your joys and sorrows. Share your worries and concerns with him and ask for help. Nothing is so great that the Almighty God cannot handle it and nothing is so small that your loving Father will not listen to and console you. "Ask and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8
