Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Mission Statement
In order to celebrate Communion reverently when there is an insufficient number of ordinary ministers (bishops, priests and/or deacons), extraordinary eucharistic ministers shall distribute Communion (bread & wine) at Masses and bring Communion to the sick and homebound.

1-2 meetings a year—when needed at 7:00PM

Short Term Goals
1. To assist in the distribution of Communion at Mass and homebound.
2. Serve when needed and substitute when needed.
3. Increase number of extraordinary ministers, who are required to attend the six-week training offered by the diocese.

Long Term Goals
1. As the number of ordinary ministers decline, we must continue to
increase the number of extraordinary ministers and prepare them to conduct Eucharistic Prayer Services.
2. To increase the number of ministers to visit the sick and homebound. 

Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age, be fully initiated in the church, and if married, be married by a priest. A candidate must be recommended by the pastor for training.
